YTH-2114 Tahi Ra – Day one

We set sail in the rain and sailed to find the sun. We got to know one another while we sailed out of Opua. A quick unpack, a super cheesy lunch and a quick orientation meant we all settled in nicely.

We sailed to Marsden Cross and headed ashore. The sun had arrived the hot, hot, hot walk up the hill rewarded us with beautiful views out into the Bay. During the walk we each collected facts and shared them with one another as we enjoyed a brownie supplied by one of the girls English teachers; thank you Miss, it was delicious!

Quiet time and back to the ship for a swim in crystal clear water; it was refreshing and there were lots of laughs all round. We have an epic bunch of teens aboard; we are tucked up for the night in sheltered Wairoa Bay and we look forward to another stunner tomorrow.
