Kia ora whanau,

Hari huritau to Wano! Today we had a bit of a sleep in, with the sounds of rain on the deck and wind whistling through the rigging. Once the rain shower stopped, we were all on deck for our morning wash in our big bath called the ocean.

Then it was time for chores and breakfast. After breakfast dishes were done, trainees got into groups and learnt about tides, anchoring and weather. This took up most of the morning and the brains were pretty full by the time lunch was ready.

A birthday lunch of soup and scones was devoured and then it was time to go ashore and do some exploring on the beach at Urqharts. A game of ‘go home stay home’ was played and then everyone had some free time, with the boys busy making a dam and the girls going hard making a fort in the tee trees.

Then we caught a ride back to the ship and some trainees went for a swim to get the mud off their legs. Some afternoon tea of freshly cooked banana Birthday cake was eaten. Yarns were had, jokes were told, and before we knew it dinner was ready!

Dinner has been eaten, and now trainees are about to play a game of hide and seek on the ship.
