YTH 2419 – Rā Tuarima – Day 5

Our day started off a little different. This morning we left the ship and headed to a waterfalls for our morning dip. It was so cold but refreshing. Pete stayed back to cook our breakfast, pancakes, creamed strawberries, fried banana and apples. We were deck slugs after that big feast. Today was our trifecta day, complete the Tucker Challenge, sail Little Tuck and learn how the drive the inflatable tender. We all did really well with all three activities. After lunch we geared up for a magical walk, over the hill to the next bay. As we stepped out of the canvas of bush our playground opened up. Lush bouncy grass, beautiful white sand, giant pohutakawa trees and crystal calm waters. Here we had a bit of time to ourselves, reflecting on our past few days and thinking about our journey ahead. Now it’s beach games time in the sand. Later on tonight we look forward to a classic kiwi dinner, boil up with doughboys! We’re still in Whangamumu for the night. There could be a games night up tonight or a few rounds of ship hide and seek. We’ve had an amazing day today and look forward to taking over the ship tomorrow. Until then. Mā te wā
