YTH2311 – Rā Tuaono – Day 6

Well, today we made the most of already having made it to where we are going. We’ve had a great day staying put in Urquhart’s Bay. We went to bed to thunder and lightning last night and it was still going this morning but cleared throughout the day. Today, the program was thrown to the trainees to decide the plan on their last day and they filled it up well. This morning, in the last of the wet weather, we had a bit more arts and crafts time in the saloon along with some fishing up on deck. After this, it was to shore again for a walk to the Army bunkers and over to Smugglers bay. Returning to the ship just as the last of the showers came through, they came back to boil up remix soup and toasted sandwiches for lunch. Dishes and wink murder kept us dry before the sun came out and we went up the mast and out on the yards to complete Tucker Challenges, sailed on Lil Tuck and learned to drive the Tender. All packed up with impressive teamwork and efficiency, we are now hearing the chaos of a bake off happening in the saloon while Chef Adam cooks us the last night Roast dinner. After dinner is Tucker Games and our normal rounds to go over the day before bed. Great group this trip. An absolute pleasure!
