YTH 1801 – Toru Ra

Ahoj from the tucker Thompson!T

his morning started off with our usual morning swim then straight into morning duties followed by eggs and spaghetti on toast for breakfast.
Gautier was first up to complete the tucker challenge, followed by Erikka, Julie, Maja, Materoa, Johanna, Miriam, Willi, Britney, Rena and Gustavo. And even through her fear of heights Clotilde made it all the way up to the cross trees, so well done to them.
We then set sails and completed a small class on knots before heading into paradise bay at Urupukapuka Island.

Lunch was served and we all enjoyed a hot soup meal with scones. After lunch Gautier, Willi, Julie, Materoa, Maja and Johanna, were straight into the water for some fun and games. We then launched the tender and headed for the beach where we walked up to a pa site and completed a class on biosecurity. The group then split up. Britney, Maja, Miriam, Materoa and some crew members carried on for a longer hike while the rest of the group proceeded back to the ship.

At the ship Gustavo prepared a beautiful pudding, not long after we caught up with the rest of the group and we headed towards our night anchorage in Putakokota. The water babies were straight  into the water on arrival. Some of the trainees spent this time to relax, enjoy the sunset and have some time to unwind. We all moved down stairs for a quick lesson on emergences and safety at sea before having a quick game of cards and dinner.

Now were enjoying corned silverside for meal with an Beautiful South American pudding made for desert thanks to Gustavo.

Goodnight!
