It was a beautiful start to the morning of day 3. The trainees enjoyed a quick dip in the ocean, a few seconds in a warm shower followed by morning duties and an enjoyable breakfast. A few lessons in class were under way for the trainees then we hoisted anchor and sails and headed towards our planned 3 nautical mile mark to dump the black water and food scraps. Along the way home Kendal took the helm Jovan and Grace climbed aloft, while the other trainees were down below playing some games. On arrival into Homestead Bay on Moturua island, we dropped the sails and anchor so some of the trainees could have the opportunity to complete the Tucker challenge. Kian was first, followed by Grace, Kendal, Moeau, Moritz, Erena, Pera and Guy.

Evan gave it a go and will try again tomorrow. Next it was time to enjoy our sausage sizzle lunch. Once lunch was complete we launched the tender and headed towards the beach where the trainees began the island loop track with Reubyn, Damin and Erina taking the lead. On arrival back to the ship the trainees were given hot chocolate and cake for afternoon tea. They participated in a class on biosecurity before the trainees were given some free time to mingle while we wait for our delicious chicken dinner to cook. Later we plan on taking the trainees to the beach for a game of spotlight. All is going well on the ship and the trainees are loving each other’s company.

Goodnight.
