YTH-2101 Rua Ra

Ahoy from the R. Tucker Thompson!

We have all turned into salty sailors now, what a busy day! It’s almost hard to remember the beginning, a quick morning swim in beautiful turquoise water framed by the cliffs and sand off Roberton Island. After doing the chores we whipped ashore to have a little look around, and then started with some serious sail action. First we saved Mr Rugby Ball, who had “accidentally” fallen over the side. He even got expertly revived by Detroyt. After that we headed out to the mighty seas, doing several tacks without really getting anywhere, although Jayden did a great job in steering the ship! You can’t win against wind and waves, and everybody perked up once we headed back into the calmer water.  Johnny steered us through another tacking session, which we finished off in style with a silent tack. Eventually we decided to cheat and use the engine to make way to windward and our destination for today, Paradise Bay. Now we are all looking forward to our kai and a good night’s sleep.
