Kia ora Whanau of the good ship, the ship where the youth experience a unique adventure and challenge themselves, all with the uppermost happiness.
My name is Ness and tonight I’m going to write my last blog before our maintenance project. At this exact time, we are currently underway night sailing to our final anchorage closer to home sweet home. All navigation light are switched on, not a single cloud on the sky but only stars. Today has been an epic day for both trainees and crew, but let’s start from the beginning.
Earlier this morning after the usual swim and breakfast, we discussed with the trainees what activities would they like to do. The choice was pretty quick. Visit and swim through the Taniwha cave in Waewaetorea Island and spend the rest of the day at the beach play some games, have a swim , go for a little Tuck session or even learn how to drive the powered dinghy.
So be it!
Karlee, our navigator, plotted our route while our anchor was being pulled up. We motored to the southern side of Okahu Passage under a full sunshine that followed us until the very end of the day.
The day rolled out pretty much exactly as they planned, with a little bonus that our captain / baker made ; a cheesecake.
All the love and see you tomorow.
